VISUAL ART + POETRY + MUSIC
Lulu Ekiert is a Polish-American visual artist, writer, and educator. She learned to paint at an early age while taking classes from local artist and family friend MaryLu Hildreth of Harvard, MA. Lulu continued to grow as an artist while working with Peter Hristoff at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. With a strong focus on culture, language, and identity formation, Lulu’s work engages with patriarchal structures, systemic failure, white privilege, the white gaze, and decolonization. Lulu completed a BA in Anthropology from New York University and will begin an M.Ed. program at UMass Amherst this fall 2018.
